Consumers can play part in reducing plastic waste

Changing habits key to tackling issue

Everybody has a role to play in reducing plastic waste in the Island - that's the view of the Manx Wildlife Trust's marine officer.

The environmental charity is running a year-long campaign to encourage members of the public to cut their usage of single use items made of the material.

Lara Howe says businesses switching to more sustainable alternatives is a positive step.

But she says the wider public also has a role to play.
