Manx NFU awaiting more detail
A management team to run the loss making meat plant at Tromode will be in place early next year.
The news has been greeted with cautious enthusiasm by the Manx National Farmers Union.
After seeing decades of loss making at the facility, and with an estimated 50% of livestock being taken off Island for better prices, the Manx NFU says it wont be able to make informed business decisions until the purchasing matrix, price points, and other associated details are outlined.
Government is currently putting over a million pounds of cash into the facility each year.
Recent remarks from the minister about the need to support the industry may point to - in the short-term - more tax-payer funds being put into it.
It says there will be a renewed emphasis on achieving efficiencies.
An Industry meeting is being held on Monday 11th December in the QEII High School at 7pm.
