Six men charged with historical offences
A man from Douglas is due in court in Carlisle today (Monday) charged with child cruelty.
Derrick William Cooper, aged 76, of Hillberry Green, faces six charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and two offences of child cruelty.
The alleged historical offences are said to have taken place at a former boarding school in Kirkby Lonsdale.
He is one of six men due to appear at Carlisle Crown Court.
