Chief Minister Allan Bell will appear on BBC TV's Sunday Politics programme today (Sunday) after a week which has seen him take a strong stand on issues ranging from gay discrimination to a bus strike.
Mr Bell will be interviewed in the programme's north-west regional section from 11.30am.
The outcry over a Ramsey landlord's refusal to rent a home to a lesbian couple triggered an outspoken reaction from Mr Bell, who said he was horrified 'ugly outdated prejudice' and 'pockets of bigotry' still existed.
Later in the week, he warned Unite that the Island would not be held to ransom over a bus strike in TT, accusing drivers of 'selfish, irresponsible' behaviour.
Mr Bell said both issues had potential to damage the Isle of Man's reputation abroad.
He says the Island has become a more tolerant place in the past 20 years but hostile media find plenty of archive material to deride the Island - and he doesn't want to add to the cuttings:
