'Listening to You' events to get underway next week

The chief minister says he is happy with the effect his government's roadshows have had on general policy.

For the second year, the 'Listening to You' events will take place giving people the chance to speak to the Council of Ministers in person.

The first session gets underway at Ramsey Grammar School on Monday evening. (30 June)

Across the four events last year, 430 people attended while 76 feedback forms were completed.

Some of the main issues raised included immigration, housing and access to mental health services.

Alfred Cannan recently faced questions as to what impact the feedback received at the roadshows has on government:

If you're interested in attending the roadshow events:

  • Monday 30 June, Ramsey Grammar School
  • Tuesday 1 July, Ballakermeen High School, Douglas
  • Wednesday 2 July, Castle Rushen High School, Castletown
  • Thursday 3 July, Queen Elizabeth II High School, Peel

Doors open at 5.15pm, events start at 5.30pm and finish at 8pm. Each venue is accessible with on-site car parking.
