Charity appealing for public to donate toys

Salvation Army received almost 500 gifts last year

An Isle of Man charity is once again asking members of the public to donate toys this Christmas.

Every year the Salvation Army appeals for people to give new gifts to families struggling financially.

Thousands of presents were donated last year, helping around 500 children.

Debbie White and Captain Rachel Nieuwoudt from the Salvation explain why donating is important during the holiday season:

The charity adds that financial contributions are also welcome from those who can't donate a physical gift.

People can also donate through The Entertainer’s Big Toy appeal until 29 November.
For each toy donated, The Entertainer says it will also add a toy, doubling the number for children who might otherwise go without.
