38-year-old accepts caution for failing to leave licensed premises
An Onchan teacher has been given a caution after an incident in a Douglas pub – but charges of assaulting door staff have been dropped.
Thirty-eight-year-old Dominic Winrow, of Whitebridge Road, appeared at Douglas Courthouse.
The court was told witness statements, and CCTV, had been reviewed and Winrow had accepted a caution for failing to leave licensed premises when asked on 16 December.
Two counts of assault, and one of disorderly behaviour on licensed premises, at the Saddle pub in Douglas were withdrawn.
Winrow hadn't entered pleas to any of the three charges and the court heard discussions had been held between the defence and prosecution.
Defence advocate Jim Travers said he wanted to make it clear the alleged assaults had involved grabbing a female member of security staff by the wrist, and her male colleague by the scruff of the neck, after they accosted his client.
After hearing the caution had already been administered magistrates marked the charges as dismissed.
No cost applications were made.
