Chance of Aurora tonight!

Local astronomer says to look north

There's a chance to see the Aurora Borealis tonight (29 July).

Also known as the Northern Lights - they appear when energised particles from the sun slam into the Earth's upper atmosphere and are redirected towards the North Pole by our magnetic field.

Local astronomer Howard Parkin says around midnight is when the skies would be dark enough and these are the spots people could see it from:
