Man on bail until next week
A Castletown man caught with a small amount of cannabis resin has admitted possessing the drug.
A few crumbs of cannabis were found in a grinder belonging to twenty-five-year-old Shannon William Bolton, of Malew Street, whilst he was attending police headquarters in relation to another matter on Monday this week.
The prosecution told the court upon the discovery of the grinder, Bolton had said to officers, 'for (expletive)'s sake, you're doing me for that bum crumb of weed?'
Bolton guessed the cannabis was worth somewhere between two and five pounds - the police had not given the prosecution an estimated value by the time of his court appearance yesterday.
Bolton is also charged with cultivating cannabis, which he admitted at a court appearance last month.
Police had been unable to provide the prosecution with a potential yield from and therefore value of the plants, as they were so immature it couldn't be established if they were male or female.
Bolton has been bailed until Tuesday next week, when he will be sentenced.
