Tribute also paid to his long-serving predecessor
Captain Stephen Carter has been appointed Captain of the Parish of Lonan.
A well-known figure in the parish, Captain Carter has served on the Board of Lonan Commissioners for several years, including two terms as chairman.
He's also well-known for his maritime career, most recently with the Laxey Towing Company.
Captain Carter replaces the late Jack Faragher CP.
Government House states that Mr Faragher had served in the role for 24 years with "both distinction and charm".
