The Department of Health says it’s reviewing breast cancer cases dating back three years after concerns were raised about tests carried out at Noble’s Hospital.
Stephen Upsdell, the hospital’s medical director, says all diagnoses are fine – but there are problems with hormone tests that help decide people’s treatment.
He says so far, 22 patients have been identified as needing case reviews but that number could rise as investigations continue.
Mr Upsdell says everything possible is being done to clear up the problem quickly:
Meningitis B vaccination scheme to be rolled out on-Island
Balthane Roundabout plans on hold until 2027/28 as costs rise
Port St Mary lifeboat launched to rescue stricken fishing vessel
