The new system will be £13 cheaper than the current cost

Applications for Isle of Man variant British passports will soon be available online, with the new service expected to launch in winter 2026/27.

The government said the move is aimed at making the application process 'more convenient', with online submissions becoming the standard route for passport applications.

A link on the Isle of Man Government's passports webpage will direct applicants to a dedicated section of His Majesty's Passport Office's established online system, specifically designed for Isle of Man variant British passports. 

The change will complete the rollout of online passport applications across the Crown Dependencies, with Guernsey and Jersey introducing the same system at the same time.

The cost of applying online will be £102, lower than the current £115.50 fee, which includes postal costs.

Officials said the online service will provide a 'more streamlined' application process, allowing applicants to enter their details, upload a digital photograph and submit applications electronically.

The Isle of Man Passport Office said 'assistance will be available' at dedicated workspaces in Douglas. Paper applications will remain available for people unable to access the government website.
