Cabinet Office to publish modifications to Draft Area Plan for North and West

Comes after a public inquiry held earlier this year

The Cabinet Office has announced plans to publish proposed modifications to the Draft Area Plan for the North and West following a two-week public inquiry held in July.

Since the inquiry government department has been reviewing the detailed report submitted by an independent inspector, which was made publicly available in November.

Early in the new year the Cabinet Office will confirm when and where the proposed modifications can be accessed.

A 10-week public consultation period will follow allowing individuals and organisations with an interest in the plan to submit representations or objections.

The Draft Area Plan for the North and West will only come into effect if it is adopted by the Cabinet Office and subsequently approved by Tynwald.

It hopes to:

  • Build better communities
  • Support health and well-being goals
  • Support a vibrant economy
  • Protect the environment
  • Support the delivery of 'Our Island Plan'
  • The inspector’s report, along with other documents and information from the inquiry, is available HERE.
