Bus dispute question given Keys priority

Members' questions range from MiCards to work permit reform

An urgent question will take precedence over the rest of the House of Keys question paper this morning (Tuesday 10 March).

It asks for details on progress to solve the ongoing industrial action by bus drivers.

MiCards and immigration controls also feature.

As he did last week, Arbory, Castletown and Malew member, Jason Moorhouse, asks the Minister for Infrastructure to provide an update on negotiations and contingency plans regarding the dispute.

Once the minister, Tim Crookall, has spoken, the question paper will move onto an inquiry from Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper about uncashed benefit cheques. This will be in connection with the unravelling of the MiCard system.

Then, and again a starred priority question, coming from Mr Moorhouse this time on immigration control.

Mr Moorhouse also asks about the £400 million bond taken out by Government in 2021.

Last week it was in connection with Manx Utilities, this week the Steam Packet.

Questions around work permit reform and support for students undertaking distance learning are also down for answering.
