Army disposal team drafted
Army disposal experts were dispatched in Castletown yesterday, after an unexploded bomb was found on the beach.
The officers were notified after an suspicious discovery was reported to emergency services.
A controlled explosion was carried out at around 11am.
It's now been tested and identified as a shell dating back to the Second World War.
Castletown Coastguards say if you see anything unusual on the beach, leave it where it is and report it immediately.
