Andreas Racing Association has paid tribute to Manx rider Sam Naugton saying it was a ‘privilege’ to see him fulfil his dream of competing at the Manx Grand Prix.

The ARA describes the racer as a ‘valued member’ of the ARA family having completed his race school in 2020.

He made his debut at the Manx Grand Prix last year.

In a statement the association said: “We watched him grow from a newcomer taking his first steps in the sport into the committed and respected road racer he became.

“His determination, enthusiasm and love of motorcycle racing were evident to everyone who knew him, and it was a privilege to see him fulfil his dream of competing on the Mountain Course for the first time in 2025.

“Many within the racing community will know Sam as one of the "Southern Boys" - a close-knit group of friends united by their passion for racing.

“They were always there for one another, supporting, encouraging and looking after each other both on and off the track.

“The bond they shared was something truly special and our thoughts are very much with them as they come to terms with this devastating loss.

“At this incredibly difficult time, our deepest and most heartfelt condolences are with Charlotte, his children, his wider family, friends, team, sponsors and everyone affected by his passing.

“No words can truly ease the pain that is being felt today.

“The motorcycle racing community is a close one, and tonight we mourn the loss of one of our own.

“Sam's character, determination and passion for the sport touched so many people and he will be remembered with great affection by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

“Rest in peace, Sam. You will be greatly missed but never forgotten.”
