Pressure being stepped up on politicians
Campaigners aiming to update the Island’s abortion legislation say they’ll be stepping up the pressure on politicians as September’s general election approaches.
Last night (Wed) the Campaign for Abortion Law Modernisation held a public meeting in Douglas to discuss its future strategy.
Members were told Freedom of Information requests to UK authorities had revealed two women from the Island travel across each week for terminations. The Manx government doesn’t track the figures.
