Peel man admits being drunk and disorderly

A Peel man has been fined £250 after swearing at police officers after a drunken night out.

Dylan Briggs, of Close Beg, admitted being drunk and disorderly during an appearance at Douglas Courthouse.

Police were called to Derby Road just before 1am on 23 August where Briggs was making 'considerable noise' and kicking traffic cones down the road.

When they searched him be began raising his voice and shouting - when they told him to go home he started swearing at them.

Briggs' advocate told the court: "Essentially he's gone on his way with a bit of back-chat to officers."

Ordering Briggs to pay prosecution costs of £125 Magistrates told him: "This was an unfortunate and avoidable situation you got yourself in."
