DoI says 'nothing is set in stone' with regards to speed limits

consultation into the introduction of 20mph limits on certain roads in the centre of the island is now live.

It forms part of a rolling programme across the Island being undertaken by the Department of Infrastructure, which has emphasised 'nothing is set in stone'.

The move follows Tynwald's support for a policy to introduce 20mph zones in residential areas.

The area now being consulted on stretches from Peel to Garff, but excludes Onchan and Douglas, which was subject to its own consultation earlier this year.

It includes Peel, Patrick, German, Marown, Braddan and Garff.

The DoI says it 'welcomes all responses from the public', adding it's 'keen to hear from as many people as possible to achieve the best possible outcomes'.

The consultation will run until 27 October.

A separate consultation for the south will run from 3 November to 22 December.
