Irish rider sustained injuries earlier this summer in NW200
MGP competitor Michael Sweeney has decided against taking part in today's Classic Superbike qualifiers.
The Skerries rider missed TT this year after sustaining injuries in a crash at the North West 200 in May.
Now back on Island, Sweeney was due to take part in the Lightweight, Classic Superbike and Classic Senior classes, saying he was feeling physically good.
But after a few laps of the course yesterday, decided he wasn't strong enough yet to take on the Superbike:
TT 2026: Rhys Stephenson targeting steady progress for debut
TT 2026: DAO Racing returns with Josh Brookes at the helm
TT 2026: Nathan Harrison to race again under H&H Motorcycles banner
TT 2026: Jamie Williams to contest Supersport & Sportbike races
