Racers discuss impact of postponements at TT 2024
TT organisers say it's 'important' that riders, and spectators, take into account potential disruption to the schedule.
Bad weather conditions have impacted some of the races, and qualifying sessions, at TT 2024.
Rain earlier this week, and yesterday (5 June), resulted in some of the solo and sidecar events being postponed.
Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson told Manx Radio it's been a difficult festival so far:
Today (6 June) it's hoped the Sidecar TT Race 2 will go ahead at 11.20am but with a reduced two lap run as opposed to the normal three.
The first Superstock race will follow at 1pm with the second Supersport TT Race taking place at 3.30pm.
However, some sidecar teams have expressed concern they could end up leaving as early as today due to pre-planned travel arrangements.
Manx Radio went to The Paddock to find out more:
Paul Phillips is the Head of Motorsport for the Department for Enterprise:
The Mountain Road is due to shut at 9am with all other roads around the course to close at 10am.
A solo warm up lap is scheduled for 10.30am before the racing action gets underway.
Roads around the course will reopen no later than 9.30pm.
