Questions over lack of sidecar race in revised schedule

Ramsden Racing disappointed by organisers' decision

The decision not to hold a sidecar TT race today has been questioned by one of the competing outfits.

Ramsden Racing asked whether there are other teams willing to meet with organisers first thing to discuss the revised race schedule.

It claims quite a few sidecar teams plan to depart the TT tomorrow (6 June).

In a post on social media, Ramsden Racing says perhaps the first question to organisers would be why a parade lap would take preference over a race.

So far this TT there's been one sidecar race with Manx brother Ryan and Callum Crowe taking their first ever victory.

TT organisers have issued the following response to Manx Radio: 'With Tuesday's schedule cancelled due to weather, the remaining schedule has been adjusted to run those races today (Wednesday) and Wednesday's races have been postponed until Thursday.

'The Rutter Legacy Lap has not been prioritised over any racing. There is not enough time in the schedule for a third race during the day time and the Race Organisers have decided not to use the Wednesday evening contingency slot, having taken into consideration the forecast weather conditions, the impact on the local populous and the impact on volunteer race officials, marshals and medics. 

'The Parade Lap takes less than 30 minutes to stage, whereas a three lap races takes approximately two hours including the pre and post race procedures.'
