The Island women’s national team have won the four Islands hockey tournament in Guernsey.
Goals from Kim Carney and Andrea Kneen secured the silverware as they beat Jersey 2-0 in Sunday’s final to complete a superb weekend.
It followed three straight wins in the competition on Saturday.
The Island opened its account by defeating Bermuda 7-0.
A hat-trick from Kim Carney, two from Andrea Kneen and one apiece from Kirsty Bowley and Louise Corkill did the damage.
The team went onto edge out Orkney 1-0 before seeing off hosts Guernsey 4-0 – Kim Carney, Zoe Carney, Kneen and Sarah Breen on target – to seal a place in the final.
And the rest, as they say, is history.
The national men’s team eventually finished in third place.
After drawing 2-2 with Bermuda, the Manx team saw off Jersey, courtesy of a Karl Moore goal but a 6-1 loss to Guernsey – Connor Byrne the Island scorer – meant they missed out on a place in the final on goal difference.
There was some consolation as they beat Bermuda 5-3 in the re-match to gain third place - Karl Moore (three), Chris Caldwell and Conor Byrne the scorers.
