The Wooden Spoon Wheelchair Sports Club will be launched at the National Sports Centre this evening (Wednesday).
After months of work by Manx Sport and Recreation, enough interest has been shown for the new organisation to be established.
The main sports hall will feature a demonstration of wheelchair Basketball and Rugby, for an hour from 7pm.
A donation from the Wooden Spoon Charity has allowed for the purchase of twelve adult and six junior sport specific wheelchairs.
Rugby Development Officer Ian Williams says the charity is mainly known for supporting rugby ventures, but this new Isle of Man initiative also fitted the overall criteria:
