Volleyball: Isle of Man targeting victory at Des Jeffers Cup

Womens squad heading to Merseyside this weekend

The Isle of Man women's volleyball team is looking to be in the hunt for silverware as it prepares to head off-Island this weekend.

The Manx squad is taking part in the 2024 Des Jeffers Cup at Woodchurch HS Sports Centre near Birkenhead on Sunday (27 October).

In what is the curtain-raiser to the Merseyside Volleyball League (MVL) season, Isle of Man team captain Natalie Wood says it should also be good preparation for the Island ahead of their domestic campaign beginning in a few weeks.

Furthermore, Wood mentions the team is under the direction of a new coach who's bringing in new ideas to help evolve their game:

After this weekend, the Isle of Man is then currently expected to take part in the men's Des Jeffers Cup event on Sunday, 3 November.

Last month Volleyball IoM explained one of its goals is to enter the MVL later this year.
