Vikings A are celebrating after they clinched the women’s Division One hockey title in style on Saturday.
They brought to an end Bacchas’ domination of recent years, securing the championship with a 4-0 victory over Castletown A.
A hat-trick from Kim Carney and one from Zoe Carney sealed the win to set the party in full swing.
As Bacchas relinquished the grip on their title, they still showed their winning credentials with a 3-1 success over Phoenix, for whom Julie Heselton replied.
In the other games, Laura Bellwood scored the only game of the game as Ramsey A edged out Valkyrs A, while Harlequins were 3-1 winners over Valkyrs B, courtesy of goals from Janette Pacey, Sandra Wrigley and Coleen Scott.
Carol Whitelegg notched the Valkyrs goal.
In men’s Division One, Vikings A won a five goal thriller against Ramsey.
Goals from Andrew Harding, Steve Crowe and Connor Byrne meant Keith Corkill and Ian Wood goals for Ramsey were not enough.
Castletown A and Saracens shared eight goals – Ed Chatterley, Dave Horan, Stephen Jackson and Anton Bolton the Saracens scorers.
In the other game, Tom Wilson hit a hat-trick and was joined on the scoresheet by Peter Vernon-Browne and Danny Shuttleworth as Bacchas B saw off Vikings B 5-1.
Ian Duggua got their consolation.
