Vagas’ Ladies off the mark
It was far from doom and gloom at Ballafletcher as Vagabonds’ Ladies beat Hull 24-12 to take maximum points from their first outing of the season in Women’s NC North One.
Rachel Beckley and Lauren Ellison both scored first half tries for Vagas who led 10-5 at half-time.
Hull’s Robyn Devereux crossed at the other end to keep her side in touch.
In the second half, Kirstie O’Brien went in for Hull’s second and, when Chloe James added the conversion, they were 12-10 in front.
Vagas though weren’t to be beaten and Beckley and Ellison both went in for their second tries with Sammie Macdonald converting both to put icing on the club’s 50th anniversary cake.
