Students too strong for Ramsey
Vagabonds lost 84-8 away at Winnington Park to bring down the curtain on what has been a horrible season for them in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two.
They actually took the lead after a long range Aidan O’Shea penalty but, as Winnington Park turned on the power, it rapidly became a rout.
Rob Martin powered over the line in the closing stages of the game to pick up a consolation try for Vagas.
Ramsey’s final outing in Division Three was far from happy as they lost 38-29 at home to Liverpool University.
The students led 31-7 at half-time with Ramsey’s only points coming courtesy of a Dave Hinks try and a Scott Kneale conversion.
They fought back in the second half with Hinks’ second of the game, plus tries from John F Watling, James Wren and Liam Sommer, plus a conversion from Dan Bonwick in his last game as captain.
