Vagabonds B maintain lead in Shield

Vagabonds B kept their lead at the top of the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield table with a hard fought 11-0 win against a resurgent Castletown.

Vagas led 8-0 at half-time courtesy of a try from Jamie Cooke and a long range penalty from Michael Oates.

Oates added a second penalty after the break to hold off a determined Town challenge.

Southern Nomads kept up the pressure at the top with a 48-25 win over Douglas B.

Nomads picked up tries from Ian Hargreaves, Josh Samuels, Andy Lean (two), Harry Brereton, Alex Samuels and Ben Horan.

Ady Shimmin and Phil Garrett were both on the scoresheet for Douglas.
