Union Mills FC donation to Noble's baby unit

Players, supporters, family and friends of Union Mills Football Club used Easter's top soccer fixture to highlight their fund-raising efforts for an Island charity.

The club presented a cheque for £800 to the Special Care Baby Unit at Noble's Hospital before kick-off at bank holiday Monday's FA Cup Final at theThe Bowl.

The cash was raised by supporters and local residents at a traditional Hunting the Wren event in Snugborough and Union Mills last Boxing Day.

A dramatic Cup Final saw Union Mills' fortunes up-ended, when they lost the match 7-3 to St George's, despite leading three-nil in the early stages. The previous Thursday the club won the second division Wood's Cup - defeating Douglas Royal 3-1.
