Despite a significant casualty list, Ramsey were simply too strong for bottom side Holmes Chapel at Mooragh Park in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two and ran out 20-13 winners in a game much tighter than the clubs’ respective league positions.
Tries from skipper Will Keenan and football convert Steve Cleator, plus two penalties and two conversions from stand-off Fintan Cummins, were enough to hand the points to Ramsey.
Douglas went down 14-30 at home to Marple in the other Division Two game as their poor season continued.
Marple, however, are going well this season and are sitting in a comfortable sixth place.
