Honda rider doubles up in class with commanding performance

Dean Harrison has claimed his second TT win of 2025 with a commanding display in the Superstock TT Race 2 this afternoon (6 June).

In a repeat of the first Superstock race on Tuesday (3 June) the Honda rider took top spot, finishing a full 16 seconds clear of 8TENRacing's Davey Todd in second.

Meanwhile, Michael Dunlop fought back from a slow start on the MD Racing BMW to take third more than 32 seconds back on Todd in what was a repeat of the order of the top three from the first Superstock contest.

In an early repeat of the battle at the top in the first race, it was Harrison and Todd setting the pace on lap one at Ballaugh with the gap at just 1.1 seconds.

The initial battle for the final place in the top three was seeing Conor Cummins, Ian Hutchinson and James Hillier vying for the advantage.

By the time the leading riders had reached Ramsey on lap one, Todd had grabbed the lead by just 0.2 seconds from Harrison who in turn responded by retaking top spot on the run to the Bungalow.

Elsewhere, Hutchinson dropped out off contention for third with mechanical issues allowing local competitor Nathan Harrison to start taking the challenge to Hillier and Cummins.

Heading into the mandatory pit stop of the race, the gap between Harrison and Todd stood at just 0.5 seconds - however, problems getting his machine moving out of pit lane meant Todd's stop was around 12 seconds longer than Harrison's heading onto lap two.

The stops across the board began to shake up the leaderboard on lap two - at Glen Helen whilst Harrison was maintaining his lead; Todd, whilst holding onto second, had dropped to 13.3 seconds back whilst moving up to third was Michael Dunlop - a further 18.4 seconds back from Todd at Ballaugh - who was recovering from a slow start after an overshoot at Braddan Bridge on the first lap.

By the time the contest was entering its third and final lap, the gaps between the leading trio had spread out considerably.

Harrison's lead out front over Todd had stretched to 20 seconds on the penultimate run past the Grandstand whilst Todd's advantage over Dunlop in third had also moved out to just over 25 seconds.

Possibly getting the message about the scale of his lead late on, Harrison even had the chance to ease off the pace heading into the final sectors of the race as he went on to secure victory at the chequered flag, just three days after bagging his first TT win since 2019 in the same class.
