Club encouraged by numbers of younger competitors taking up sport
One of the main events on the Isle of Man's triathlon calendar is returning for 2024 this weekend.
The Manx Middle Distance Triathlon gets underway at 8am on Sunday (16 June) at Mooragh Park in Ramsey with teams taking on a 1.9km swim, a 90km bike route and 21.1km run distance.
Entries for the event are already closed.
Rich George - Secretary of the organisers Manx Tri Club - says heading into this busy time of the season for the sport they've been encouraged by the number of younger athletes starting to take up the discipline.
But he says they're particularly keen to see more female competitors get involved and that there are good resources for those who want to try it for the first time:
