Trials: Swindlehurst wins again at Manx 2 Day event

Cumbrian makes it back-to-back expert class titles

Tom Swindlehurst has made it back-to-back titles during this year's edition of the Manx 2 Day Trial at the weekend (13-14 July).

The Cumbrian rider once again finished top of the solo expert class on his 300 Birkett Scopa having amassed just 16 points to repeat the victory he also claimed at the 2023 meeting.

Making up the top three in the class was Andreas competitor and previous winner Barry Kinley in second (31 points) and Hugo Jervis in third (36 points) both on board 300 Beta machinery.

Elsewhere, Jack Corlett claimed his third successive sidecar title alongside Ealish Baxter for whom it was a first victory as both finished the sidecar category on 11 points, clear of John Corlett and Harry Gell in second on 22 points with Rupert Kimber and Aron Jacobs' tally of 26 points seeing them finish third.

Meanwhile, there was a new winner in the clubman class as late entry Ben Butterworth on his 300 Fantic machine took top spot having racked up 12 points and finishing three points better off than second-placed Kiaran Hanking (15 points) with the podium completed by Andrew Reeves in third (28 points).
