And he finished Sunday's 30km time trial in 91st place.
Overall the Manx star is 119th in the general classification and 14th in the points.
Today sees the riders tackle the longest stage of the race; from Civitanova Marche on the coast they inland into the hills and finish in Camerino, a distance of 235km.
