Valkyrs A edged ever closer to the Wi-Manx men’s Premier Division on Saturday.
A 4-1 win over battling Bacchas B left them on the brink of the title.
Any result other than a heavy defeat against reigning champions Bacchas A next week means they will win the title.
It wasn’t easy on Saturday with Bacchas B – for whom Alex Bell scored – holding the westerners at the break.
However, goals from Greg Miller (two), Ollie Webster and Gareth Morris kept them on course.
Bacchas A remain on their heels after seeing off Castletown A 6-2, courtesy of three goals in three minutes from the prolific Karl Moore and one each from Gareth Craig, Johnny Callow and Richard Le Page.
Sven Lindeque netted both for Town.
A disappointing campaign for Vikings A had a bright spot as they saw off Ramsey A 6-1.
Connor Byrne was their star with four goals and was joined on the scoresheet by Andy Harding and Neil Crowe.
Keith Corkill notched the northerners’ consolation.
In Wi-Manx women’s Premier Division, a solitary Sarah Breen goal moved Vikings A closer to retaining their title.
That was enough to dispatch ever improving Bacchas A.
Castletown A put four past Valkyrs A without reply thanks to doubles from Zoe Shimmin and Eleanor Gawne.
Megan Loveridge and Jo Quine fired Bacchas B to a 2-0 win over Vikings B, while Julie Chesterton added two more to her tally as Ramsey A saw off Valkyrs B by the same scoreline.
