Lloyd Taggart made a perfect start to 2017 with an emphatic victory in the traditional curtain raiser to the new athletics season.
He won the New Year’s Day St John’s Fell Race in a time of 24 minutes exactly, a minute and 22 seconds clear of Ben Corkill.
Tom Cringle completed the top three.
There was an impressive showing from young visiting athlete Thomas Devaney in fourth place.
Eleanor Miklos was the leading woman in a time of 32.52 from Kirree Quayle and Lisa Dunwell.
