Manx competitor shines at summer meet in Sheffield
Manx swimmer Lauren Dennett has become a national champion after competing at a recent event in the UK.
Representing Isle of Man Swimming Club, Dennett took part in the Swim England National Summer Meet 2023 held at Ponds Forge in Sheffield from 2-6 August in both the Women's 14-years 1,500m and 400m Freestyle events.
She went on to take gold in the 1,500m event in a time of 18 minutes 19.70 seconds ahead of Bianca Stavar Albarral of Lancing College in second with City of Leciester's Esmee Slinn taking bronze.
Last month, Dennett was also part of the Isle of Man swimming squad which competed at the 2023 Island Games in Guernsey and was the Island's youngest competitor at those games.
