Ramsey resident Cal Crutchlow is having his broken collarbone operated on today.
The MotoGP rider has posted pictures of his x-rays on his Twitter page, showing the bone in four pieces, not three as originally thought.
He broke it coming off during the third lap of the qualifying session for the British MotoGP at Silverstone on Saturday.
Fears about a neck injury have been allayed, after an MRI scan revealed Crutchlow hadn't damaged vertebrae.
Meanwhile World Superbike competitor and Castletown resident Jonathan Rea is due to have an operation on his right wrist tomorrow evening.
That's to repair the broken radius he sustained, along with a fractured collarbone, in a crash at the WSB round at Misano in Italy at the weekend.
