Successful third and final round of Winter Hill League

All 135 fell runners finish race

One-hundred-and-thirty-five runners started the final round of the Aston International sponsored Winter Hill League at the weekend and 135 finished.

The latest race at Ardwhallan capped off the 3-part series in sunny and muddy conditions.

Gwilym Jones was the first man to finish, in a time of 23 minutes 4 seconds, while Alice Forster was the first woman and 27th overall with a time of 28 minutes 35 seconds.

Next up for fell runners is the classic St John's Fell Race on New Years Day.

All race entry money will be donated to the hyperbaric chamber.
