Squash: Isle of Man enjoys success at Jersey festival

Team Atla crowned division champions as two Island sides take on event

Isle of Man squash has enjoyed a successful campaign whilst competing at this month's ARC Jersey Squash Festival.

Two Manx squads attended the meeting from 8-11 October with Team Atla contesting Division 4 and Team Buchana & Pitts taking on Division 5.

Team Atla went on to be crowned Division 4 champions with a 5-1 win over the hosts in the Division 4 final.

That followed a record of one win and one defeat in the group stage which preceeded a semi-final success over GB VETS.

Elsewhere, Team Buchanan & Pitts were unable to progress beyond the group phase in Division 5, however, Isle of Man Squash says the experience 'provided valuable competitive opportunities for the whole squad, particularly the newcomers, who enjoyed the chance to test themselves against unfamiliar opposition in a strong field.'

More generally, the festival - which is a long-standing tournament on the Manx squash calendar - will mark its 50th anniversary in 2027.
