Lewthwaite and Duggan star for champs
The defending champions bounced back from last week’s defeat with a 66-7 win against new boys Noa Nomads in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield.
John Ali scored the Noa Nomads consolation score with Dave Haywood converting.
It was, however, nowhere near enough as the champions ran in a hatful.
Paceman Alex Lewthwaite picked up five tries, Pat Dean and Jacob Callow got two each and Colin Kelly one.
Tom Duggan kicked eight conversions.
Meanwhile, Vagabonds B booked a spot in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Plate semi-finals with a 35-12 win against Douglas B.
Johnny Beckley and Matty Jones both scored twice as Vagas avenged last week’s narrow defeat to Douglas.
Daf Lewis also picked up one for Vagas with Jack Rowlands converting all five.
Charlie Henthorn and Ollie Bolt both scored tries for Douglas.
Vagas will face Western Vikings in the semi-final with Ramsey B and Castletown contesting the other tie.
