Ties further down the field in tightly-contested meeting

Report by Peter Kelly:

The IOM Clay Pigeon club held there FITASC sporting club championship kindly sponsored by Brian Faragher with 21 competitors taking part in dry but very windy conditions making the targets very unpredictable over the three layouts.

The leader after the first layout were last year's winner Michael Cross; junior Zac Bellhouse and sponsor Brian Faragher on 19 followed by Mark Corrin on 18 with junior Joe Faragher and John Moore next on 17.

We had a new leader after layout two in junior Joe Faragher on 40 with Michael Cross next on 39 followed by Zac Bellhouse in third place on 38.

The third and final layout proved to be the hardest with three shooters tying on 46 so countback was used the decide the placings and in eighth place was George Davies with 46+13; in seventh place was Brian faragher with 46+14 followed by Mark Barnett in sixth place with 46+18.

We also had a tie for fourth and fifth - in fifth place with 48+15 was Mark Corrin with John Moore taking fourth place with 48+16.

Zac Bellhouse was third on 53 but we had another tie for first and second, and in second place with 56+16 was Joe Faragher but taking the championship with 56+17 and retaining his championship was Micheal Cross.
