Second day of racing beckons for Southern 100 2024

Four races planned this evening at Billown

The second day of racing at the 2024 Southern 100 Road Races is due to get underway this evening (10 July).

Roads around the Colas Billown Course are due to shut at 6.05pm with the session then scheduled to begin with the Ellan Vannin Fuels Senior Race over seven laps.

That is expected to be followed by the 600cc B Race and 600cc A Race, both of which will also be over seven lap distances.

The final contest will then be the six-lap Ace Hire Sidecar Race before roads reopen no later than 9.40pm.

Yesterday saw the first two races of this year's meeting with Michael Dunlop winning the opening Peel Holdings Senior Race which was declared after two laps following a red flag incident.

The rider involved in the incident at Ballawhetstone was reported as okay and taken to hospital for further assessment.

Meanwhile, the following five-lap Mike Kerruish Plumbing & Heating Lightweight Race was won by Rob Hodson.

Jamie Coward and Davey Todd finished second and third respectively in both races.
