Veteran TT rider suffered fractures in his spine
Seven time TT winner Michael Rutter is able to "mobilise" after after coming off his bike during the final lap of Friday's Supertwin race.
His team confirmed via his official Facebook page that the 53-year-old suffered a number of fractures in his spine between the L2 and L5 vertebrae.
He airlifted to the Walton Unit at Aintree Hospital, where surgeons successfully stabilised all the fractures.
Michael and his team have said thank you to all the well wishers and to the medical staff at Aintree and the Walton Unit.
