Jonty Cope makes impact off-Island
England is knocking on the door of a local rugby sevens player.
Jonty Cope has been selected for the England Counties u18s final squad.
His selection follows a long process, starting months ago when trialling for Lancashire u18s, where he ended up in the final England 23.
The Isle of Man u18s Sevens Scrum Half missed the Island's recent trip to Lisbon for the national side's international debut, due to training with North of England.
On Facebook, the IoM Rugby Sevens page said: "Jonty is the latest in a now fairly decent run of Manx rugby players making an impact off island. A great kid & brilliant ambassador for Isle of Man."
Adding, "being from the Island does NOT mean you can't reach great heights. Top work Jonty!"
