Celts win 'old firm' clash in Manx Cup

Report by Dave Christian:

A 43-19 defeat of Dukinfield gave Ramsey a flying start in Counties 3 ADM Minor Conference League.

The other scheduled games were postponed meaning Ramsey are top after round one.

Early tries from Jake Richmond, Brayden Roche and Dan Kelly coupled with three Kelly conversions saw Ramsey race into a 21-0 lead.

Dukinfield struck back with tries from Dave Whitham and Ben Pugh plus a Jonny Sculthorp conversion but Ben Hardman pulled one back for Ramsey to leave his side 26-12 in front after a breathless first half.

Kieran Kneale extended the lead early in the second half but after Dukinfield regrouped they reduced the lead when Ben Pugh bagged his second which Sculthorp converted.

Ramsey, however kept the wheels on their wagon and late tries from Brandon Atchison and Ross Quayle, plus a Kelly conversion, sealed the result.
