Douglas, Ramsey and Vagabonds all defeated away from home

Douglas lose away at Sandbach

Douglas snatched a late win last week but it was a late defeat for them today away at Sandbach where they went down 38-20 after leading with ten to play.

Tries from Kyle Martin, Nathan Robson and Ian Larson, plus a penalty and a conversion from Robson gave Douglas hope as the clock ticked down.

Sandbach however were still very much in the game and a big final push saw them catch and pass Douglas’ tally in the final minutes to make it two from two.

Douglas face Altrincham Kersal at Port-e-Chee next Saturday and will look to returning to winning ways in Regional 2 North West.

Vagabonds beaten at Congleton

Vagas lost 37-19 at Congleton in Counties 3 ADM Lancs/Cheshire.

Skipper Dan Bonwick crossed for Vagas as did Theo Head and Josh Modin. Cam Findlay added two conversions but it wasn’t quite enough to unseat Congleton who are now two from two in their comeback season.

Ramsey hammered at Bury

A wedding forced a number of changes to the Ramsey squad and this was reflected in the score line with the Manx side crashing to a 93-0 defeat away at Bury in Counties 3 ADM Lancs/Cheshire.

A tough looking Bury outfit ran in tries steadily from start to finish and Ramsey had no answer.

They now have a two week break before travelling to Clitheroe on 4 October.
