Roskell leads Manx Rally into second day

Today's action gets underway from the Grandstand

Blackpool driver Neil Roskell and co-driver Andrew Roughead have a commanding lead after the opening nights action on the Manx Rally.

The Ford Fiesta R5 crews took the lead on stage three over Druidale, Injebreck and the Baldwins and reached the overnight halt at the TT Grandstand one minute 19 seconds ahead of Welsh crew Gavin Edwards and Caron Tomlinson in a Ford Escort.

Father and son team, Rory and Paul McCann, are the leading locals, holding third place overnight in their Honda Civic.

George Collister and Ian Postlethwaite are fourth in a BMW and Gary Leece and Sarah Jane Coole fifth in a Ford Escort.

Sarah is contesting her first ever stage rally.

The concluding days action gets underway from the Grandstand just after 9am with eight more closed roads stages awaiting crews before the finish shortly after 3.30pm, again at the Grandstand.
