Rockets cause cup shock

Ronaldsway caused the shock of the GH Corlett Woods Cup as they demolished Onchan in the preliminary round.

The Rockets belied their lowly league form to produce a stunning 7-1 victory.

A Jordan Edge hat-trick led the way.

Jeff Moore, Jack Powell, Andy Blake and Jamie Brennan netted the others as Onchan – for whom Mark O’Neil scored – were stunned.

Colby showed their quality with a 4-0 success at Braddan, courtesy of goals from Eddie Cooper (two), Adam Fretwell and Jack Snidal.

Division Two leaders Michael booked their place in the quarter-finals but were pushed hard by Douglas and District before winning 2-0, thanks to second half goals from Paul Corlett and Peter Fisher.
